The Sky Lynx Reissue

A while back it was revealed that Japan was going to get a reissue of the G1 Transformer Sky Lynx. Tformers.com recently posted an scan of the Japanese magazine Dengeki Hobby that shows the final production model in great detail. Here’s a preview image, head on over to TFormers.com to check out the image in it’s full glory.

Sky Lynx is one hell of a bizarre Transformer, what with him being some crazy dinosaur bird cat combination, but he’s still boss. With the Lynx, you get two Transformers for the price of one. Hell in my fantasy Autobot lineup I’d be a fool not to include Sky Lynx in my crack team of Decepticon ass kickers. The only thing that I didn’t like about him was how the Autobots somehow managed to fit inside him even though when the Lynx part of him transformed it was not in any way big enough to fit the likes of Transformers like Grimlock. Sky Lynx also brought up the problem that in some episodes the Autobots needed him around to get around in space, but at other times they could fly around under the own power. It’s just one of the many examples that show that the G1 cartoon didn’t make a hell of a lot of sense most of the time.

If you’re not above importing your figures, Sky Lynx is due out in Japan on Feburary 21, 2008. I haven’t heard of any release scheduled here and I wouldn’t expect one either. Lucky Japanese and their access to everything that’s cool in the Transformersverse.
