The Totally Awesome Millenium Falcon Is Real!
The toy that made collectors balls’ blow off in awe a few weeks ago has been officially confirmed by Hasbro in their latest Q&A section. (Don’t worry, I’m working on collecting the questions for my usual round of Star Wars Nerd Questions.) Here’s a new picture of the Millennium Falcon to help satiate your lust for what could qualify as one of the greatest toys ever:

Why did Hasbro try to keep it a secret for so long? The answer is simple, they wanted to have the reveal in a super spectacular manner. With a toy so cool they thought it would be best to blow our minds when we least expected it. They still plan on having some sort of big reveal to those outside of the toy world, namely a prominent story in an upcoming Wired magazine, but since the cat’s already out of the bag they figured they might as well confirm it now. Their official response follows the break if you want to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth:
Can we say we held back confirmation because we really couldn’t believe it ourselves that it was happening, and didn’t want to dash hopes if it somehow fell through? No? OK then, it is time to come clean.
As most people have seen by now, pictures did get leaked of what we were hoping would be the biggest secret we ever held onto - the massive, new 3-3/4″ Millennium Falcon. We can confirm that it *is* real, and it *is* spectacular! Please trust us when we say that our intentions were truly in the right place - we wanted to surprise fans everywhere with the biggest secret we had ever tried to hold back leading up to the massive 7/26 launch date for The Clone Wars/The Legacy Collection.
We do expect the first availability to be 7/26 at the same time as everything else. We have been working against a reveal plan, including a world debut in Wired Magazine (June issue, on sale in May!), followed by some very key celebrity reviews and additional exposure prior to the public debut at Comic Con.
At least that was our intention…with something like this, as big as it is, and as intense the interest is in Star Wars, it proved impossible to hold. Look for additional details to roll out as per the schedule above, and look forward to the full public debut at Comic Con.”

“Key celebrity reviews”? What could that mean?
I’m thinking George Lucas and/or Seth Green.

1. We don’t need a celeb endorsement for this.
2. We don’t need a review either. Unless it’s made of styrofoam or something.
3. I’m becoming skeptical of any time some sort of “super hush-hush secret leaked info” is “accidentally” dropped on the “internet.” Aw, hell I ran out of quotation marks.

yeah, who is actually going to be swayed by a “celebrity” review of this thing?
And secondly, how do I get on the list of “celebrities” who get one of these? Because while I’m not particularly interested in buying one (yeah, I admit that, big whoop, wanna fight about it?), I’d definitely like to have one…
