The Toy Aisle that Time Forgot! The Contest!

by

This is a post in two parts. The first part can be found on Poe Ghostal’s awesome blog “Poe Ghostal’s Points of Articulation” and it details the amazing toy aisle in the Northwoods of Wisconsin that contains toys that are now at least a decade old. This post is the one where you can win your very own piece of insane toy history!

That’s right, I’m giving away a Playmates Star Trek:The Next Generation Dr. Beverly Crusher figure that had been sitting on a store peg hook for a grand total of sixteen years. Now she’s not exactly mint, I mean she’s been in a store for longer than most Twilight fans have been alive, but this is a rare opportunity to own your very own piece of toy history. How many other people can say they owned a vintage Next Gen figure that was bought brand new at retail in 2009? Nobody else, that’s who!

All you have to do to get your hands on this figure is to leave a comment below letting me know who your favorite Star Trek character is and why. The winner will be randomly selected. Be sure to leave your real email address so I can contact you to let you know that you’re the winner kid. Otherwise someone else will be selected. Thems the breaks!

So now get to it, kids. Who is your favorite Star Trek character? Mine is T’Pol. I’ll give you one guess why.

Can I have two guesses why yours is T’Pol? ;)

Mine is Pickard. I mean, dude is suave. And Patrick Stewart is a peeyump.

  2. Wes Says:

My favorite character? Geordi La Forge. Now, I know nothing about him or Star Trek in general — I actually had to look the character’s name up in the Wiki — but my dad used to watch Star Trek: TNG and I’d occasionally see parts of it. Of course, I recognized Geordi as LeVar Burton from Reading Rainbow… so that’s why I liked him. :)

  3. LastBestAngryMan Says:

Does the incarnation of Kirk in Twisted Toyfare Theater count? Cuz he’s totally my fav.

  4. Esbat Says:

Damn you LBAM! You beat me by less than 3 hours!

Hmm… I’d say William Shatner’s Toupee. That sucker eats up the scenery.

  5. Richard Says:

    Pickard! :)

  6. Nick Says:

Bones by far is my favorite.

  7. Paul Says:

Read the fine print kids. You have to tell me why they are your favorite, you can’t just name a character!

  8. LastBestAngryMan Says:

Alright, why is that Kirk my favorite?

    1. Ladies’ man.
    2. Carries a spare merkin.
    3. Tries to get Picard laid.
    4. Said to the Borg: “You can’t do anything to me I haven’t already paid Thai hookers to do.” (I have edited the actual quote slightly because I don’t want my door kicked down).
    5. Always up for a good probin’.

My second choice, if that’s allowed, was Thor from TTT when he got assimilated by the Borg. Does he count?

  9. Toot Farts Says:

My favorite is Boba Fett. I liked when he saved Hogwarts from Skeletor.

    It was a nail-biter though.

  10. Paul Says:

Well Toot Farts, sorry but that doesn’t count.

  11. Toot Farts Says:

Always the bride’s maid, never the bride.

  12. PresidentJuggernaut Says:

This is tough… it’s gotta be Data or La Forge.

La Forge. He was blind, and he overcame it by wearing an awesome visor.

  13. Emma Says:

I think my favorite is Data. I kind of consider him a friend. :)

    These old toys are amazing!

  14. crazyfellow1 Says:

tribble, because that is the only episode pf star trek I’ve seen.
    positives:
    cute
    soothing purr
can be used as a food tester

    negatives:
    racist
    born pregnant

  15. Gillian Says:

Picard, of course. He spoke French and read Shakespeare. Yep, I’m pretentious. I also like seeing him sing The Alphabet Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjNKyoRudOQ
