The Transformers Film

by Paul

I feel as I must address the live action, Michael Bay Transformers film because I have just returned from watching it. I was avoiding talking about the Transformers film because a) I focus my coverage here on toys and not films themselves and b) I’m not a big nut for the design of the Transformers and I have no interest in any of the toys that come from it.

Still, this must be said: Transformers rocked my balls off.

Now… discuss.

I liked the new designs. I thought they worked great in the movie.

Overall I thought the movie was great. I would have rather seen a little less human character development and a little more Transformers character development, especially the Decepticons. I wish Starscream had more screen time also.

I’m glad they decided to use Peter Cullen for the voice of Optimus Prime. He did a great job and it really added to the character.

Same here, XeQUae. I really liked a lot of the human stuff, but it really ran a bit long. I thought many of the human scenes would have made great extras on a DVD. By the way, did you notice that it seemed like some scenes were cut out at the end? The military guys and the Witwicky and his chick seemed to be a lot closer than their 5 seconds of screen time would have indicated.

  3. XeQUae Says:

    I didn’t notice that.

Yeah, I think they should have trimmed some of the human stuff for more decepticons. I liked there scenes, but I was going to see a Transformers movie and would rather be watching them.

  4. Delphi Says:

    I enjoyed the movie immensely.

Although I do have a gripe with the new Transformers look. I like the look and streamline of the G1 series transformers.

    Just look at the new
    (Movie) Starscream
    and the
    (Masterpiece) Starscream
    .

Having said that, I have started to collect the movie Transformers and have decided on the leader and ultimate line of toys. I just don’t have a big enough pocket to go crazy collecting them all and I rather concentrate on these two specific lines as a collector.

Thanks for the comment Delphi! Keep them coming!
