This Month in ToyFare: Issue #138
So I decided to do it another month if not for a chance to talk about Naked Jonathan Frakes.
FanFare - Page 8: Sam Ford, your are entitled to your opinion, but mine is that poor acting, bad plot line, and laughable continuity are reasons why Sara Connor Chronicles is awesome.
Page 9: “..but a populace that has to wait in line for bread and water probably has priorities beyond quality control of faux feces.” Jake Rossen FTW.
Customizing 101 - Pages 10 and 11: This new Iron Fist looks pretty bad ass and I’m betting you won’t see him in his new costume any time soon.
The Hot Plate - Page 12: Where the heck are the staff recommendations!? I love them last issue! I wanna know who is telling me what!
Incoming - Page 15: I need Gentleman Ghost and Classic Dr. Fate. Too bad I’ll never see them. I can also forget about ever finding Hawkgirl.
Page 18: The Padme and Jar Jar speech bubbles win Best Speech Bubble Based Joke of the Issue! Congrats! The Mace Windu and Clone Trooper exchange on page 19 is also hilarious.
Page 21: I’ll ask the obvious for Kirk’s Command Chair: “Does the girl come with it?: Har har har har lolz
Page 28: The Lone Ranger and Zorro speech bubbles are hilarious. There’s some great ones this issue.
Pages 30 and 31: Kudos to DC Direct for the increased articulation. The figures don’t all look the god damned same anymore. It also doesn’t hurt that these are George Perez inspired. I heart George Perez.
Pages 38 and 39: The whole teapot and spouts thing makes it worth looking at stupid wrestler figures.
Pages 49 and 50: Oh boy, Stretch Armstrong is a compelling film subject… yeah, I’m being sarcastic.
Pages 52 through 54 - Universal Appeal: I am not looking forward to the Marvel Universe 3 3/4th line, because I’m afraid I’m going to buy so many of these friggen guys it’s ridiculous.
Pages 56 and 57 - The Mean Green Machine: “My name is Jason F.C. Clarke and I’m all ambitious, so I interview Goeff Johns. Look at me, everyone love me!” <— This was not written out of jealousy at all. No, sir.
Pages 64 and 65 - The Future is Soonish: The fourth film is the last Futurama movie? That’s lame.
Pages 66 through 68 - Turtle Staying Power: Oh, I liked this. More interviews like this!
Pages 70 through 73 - Roll Out: The problem with having special anniversary Transformers is they’ve been releasing G1 remakes and look alikes for years. It’s not like they brought back the line from near death like they did with G.I. Joe.
Pages 74 through 79 - Twisted Toyfare Theatre: Troops! I love the troops TTTs.
Pages 82 through 87 - Price Guide: All I can request is that you keep rocking the Big Shots, ToyFare gods.
Page 88 - Naked Holiday Cheer: It’s disturbing how much I like Naked Jonathan Frakes. It took awhile to grow on me, but each appearance causes me to want more. Sick, I know!
That’s all for now! If you liked this look at this month’s ToyFare, leave a comment!
