Toy Bender Action Figure Review: C-3PO

by

Welcome Toy Bender readers, to my first ever action figure review. While some sites may have lots of figure reviews and I could never hope to be as in depth and have as many as they do, I have some strong opinions on toys from time to time. Therefore, I’ve decided to occasionally do reviews when I come across a particularly well done or completely crappy toy. Plus, the blog overlords hunger for content so I must feed them.

For my first review we’ll take a look at Hasbro’s Star Wars Saga Collection Figure #42, C-3PO with throne. I don’t pick that many figures up that aren’t clone related, but this C-3PO was begging to be bought. Why? He comes with a freaking Ewok throne! This is possibly the best accessory to come with a figure in some time. If you didn’t have the Ewok village that came with a wooden throne then you never had a way for the Ewoks to worship their golden god and that’s just way too sad.

My first impression was that this figure rocks, and it does. Not only does C-3PO have bendable knees, which is nice enough feature alone, but he’s got a midsection that moves around quite nicely. He also has the regular up and down arm articulation, but to make up for that his head moves around on what seems to be a ball joint. It’s nice to have a poseable version of a non-clone figure for a change.

As usual with a C-3PO figure, the metallic paint scheme is really nice. The weakest point is his silver knee (I love the silver leg by the way), which is just silver colored plastic.

My only qualm with this particular figure is that he seems a bit off somehow when he’s standing around. I can’t quite place my finger on it, but he looks a little different than the normal C-3PO figure. I think it’s because his shoulders are a little bigger than normal. However, when he’s sitting on his throne, he looks fantastic like the Pimp he is. I guess its time to dust off my old Ewok Village playset!

Score: 5 yub yubs out of 5
